FIS SnowKidz Award: Deadline extended to 15th February

As part of FIS's international 'Bring Children to the Snow' Campaign, the FIS SnowKidz have appeared at various FIS World Cup and other events during this season with the goal of encouraging more and more children to enjoy time and play in the snow. In cooperation with the respective National Ski Associations and the local organizing committees, the FIS SnowKidz have been part of 'Meet the Star-days', school visits, photo competitions and much more.

As announced in May 2009, another element of this multi-year communications and activity campaign is the new FIS SnowKidz award. This award was launched to recognize and promote the best examples of bringing children to the snow in varying national circumstances. The FIS member National Ski Associations (full and associate members) were invited to submit their projects to compete for the first award for the best examples of bringing children to the snow by 31st January 2010. While some twenty National Ski Associations have already submitted their projects by the deadline, due to the demands of preparations for the Olympic Winter Games, Vancouver 2010 as well as the FIS Junior World Ski Championships further submissions will be accepted until 15th February 2010.
